Trend Spotting: Granny Style in FW15

August 26th, 2015
Trend spotting: Granny looks for this season. In love in Miu Miu collection!

So much fun on the catwalks this season. Particularly at Miu Miu’s show where bows and fancy patterns meet each other in a ‘granny style’! Somehow it reminds the 60’s, the silhouettes are serious with sweaters on shirts and skirts – however, it’s surprisingly modern. Playful fabrics, bright and neutral tones… where pink has been also featured.

Granny style, not girly. Love this – currently kind of obsessed with pleated skirts.

Inspiring looks from the street, with a nice combo of granny style and modern elements. I particularly love the perfecto leather jacket matched with the pleated skirt by Caroline Issa (on the right top). The color shades are just beautiful. Seen on the catwalk: This midnight blue outfit by british designer Ryan Lo. Really amazing with that unstructured lace skirt!

Granny style may not fit everyone, but you can start by matching a pleated skirt with the sporty sweater, or a bow shirt with a denim skirt. Simply think modern.

Now that we talk about it, I finally DIY remastered an old granny dress. I bought it some years ago, felt in love in it’s written, ‘arty’ print and emerald color. I wore the new piece some days ago, be sure to see it in the next days!

Stay tuned, fall season has started and have plenty of things to show you!
