Stylish tutorial for pumps with DIY black pompoms

Now that Christmas time is over, let’s open the heavy ‘night-dress-up-file’. If shoes are everything, how do the perfect party shoes look like? To me they should be both qualitative and changeable, according to the mood or today’s outfit. Casual at one day, party like the other.

A playful, easy way to get perfect party pumps: DIY pompoms, stitched on two metal shoe clips. ‘Party’ pumps that I might also wear the day with a pair of jeans, a tee and a simple blazer!

I think there are two rules to make it chic and effective:

1. Choose great (one or two-tone) leather pumps.

2. Define the right color to match with. Black always works, so I choose two different wool threads: polyester and shining synthetic.

Then I used a hand-made cardboard pompom maker. This video in its traditional way will help you if you’re still pompom novice. Anyways, the cardboard’s diameter should not be more than about 6 cm.

Realize your two pompoms, stitch them on the shoe clips.

And finally place them on the shoes. I am mad of my new pumps, I hope you’ll enjoy to realize your own as well!
