Finding varnished shoes has been on my wish list for a while. All the styles I saw were somehow too classy for me. Or maybe just too elegant. Seems I wanted it all: it had to look cool, but also be comfortable. So by chance I could find the ideal style at the Minelli shoes corner in Manor Zürich. For sure I have a ‘faible’ for the French brand, the story is not new since I used to go a lot when living in France.
This is how I like to wear them most; with my old Burberry’s, simple jeans and… my vintage turban. It might be hard to believe, but it’s way not easy to combine. The satin fabric likes mostly other shiny materials, so it looks definitely nicer with varnished or light shining items.
These boots are made for walking, the sole is quite thick but the shoes are very light. They fit with a lot of items, also with skirts and dresses. The thing is, it has to be simple and timeless. That’s why it works nicely with the trench — and even with basic jeans like this one.
And yes, I like the idea that this winter, I’ll be on the go with something else than a knit beanie. It keeps really warm.
Also in my closet for more than two years: the Buenos Aires bag from the Belgian brand Versa Versa. Still intact, and still wearing it almost every day.
